Eventually, Mary Ellen has to venture into a closet that had become a pocket dimension for the Ferryman. Moving through the dark and around other bodies taken by the Ferryman, Mary Ellen finds the Annabelle doll and barely escapes with it. The Ferryman is among the demons that approach the heroines as they seal Annabelle away.
The young couple next door, Mia and John Form, then have to deal with the fallout of the act, as Annabelle sets her sights on attacking pregnant Mia next. Today, we have an exclusive new image from Annabelle Comes Home, the third entry in the blockbuster Annabelle franchise starring the possessed doll from the Conjuring universe. This image features Vera Farmiga reprising her role as paranormal investigator Lorraine Warren, opposite Annabelle itself.
A Breakdown of the New ‘Conjuring’ Demons in ‘Annabelle Comes Home’! [Exclusive]
In the film, all of the cursed artifacts from the Warren household are unleashed at once, courtesy of the malevolent Annabelle doll. There are so many that they don’t all get a lot of screentime, and some have more fleshed out backstories than others within the film proper. Malthus's name is hinted at in Annabelle , where Mia was reading books about demonology, where the name Malthus is seen with a ram-like demon sacrificing a baby child.

Annabelle Comes Home was theatrically released in the United States on June 26, 2019, by Warner Bros. It was originally scheduled for release on July 3, 2019, but was later moved up to June 28, and then to June 26. Annabelle Comes Home was released on Digital HD on September 17, 2019, and on Blu-ray and DVD on October 8, 2019. The Ferryman (The Conjuring)
Finally, Janice finds herself alone in the old barn, where she sees the ghostly apparition of young Annabelle Mullins — only this time, Janice knows full well that this spirit doesn't belong to an innocent young girl. The demon posing as young Annabelle leaps onto Janice and vomits black bile in her mouth, signifying its possession of her. Several years after the horrific tragedy in the Mullins family, a group of girls from a Catholic orphanage are invited by the couple to come stay on the property. Samuel sternly warns the girls to stay out of Annabelle's locked room — but one of the girls, named Janice, has just enough morbid curiosity to break in anyway. After the demonic entity uses its power to entice the girl with a cryptic note instructing her to find the doll, she releases it from its confines and supernatural horrors begin terrorizing the Mullins home once again.
At the same time, the demon attempts to put Mia's baby daughter, Leah, in danger unless Mia sacrifices her soul to the demon save Leah's life. But the film also introduced some new demonic creations of its own, including the long-awaited arrival of the Hellhound, as well as Dauberman's own creations like The Bride and the Ferryman Demon. That last one is the focus of our exclusive behind-the-scenes Blu-ray clip, which takes a look at how theConjuring-verse demon was created with hours of prosthetics and makeup on-set.

Ed and Lorraine return the next morning, and the girls approach them to recount the eventful night. Daniela apologizes to Lorraine, who gives her a comforting message from her father. Mary Ellen is almost transfixed by the suit, but Judy eventually snaps her out of her trance. During a panicked escape not long after, Mary Ellen bumps into the suit, knocking it down alongside her. When she looks at the armor, a bloody man suddenly appears inside, screaming.
In the film, it's two goat-like horns on it's forehead are gone, and it's ram like horns are much bigger than before. It's goatee and it's hair is now gone, and his eyes are now green instead of red, white, and yellow. The demon moves very swiftly and fast, able to attack it's victims at fast speed. The reason for the demon's different design in this film has yet to be explained. After a Satanic cult invades the home of John Form and his then-pregnant wife Mia, the Annabelle doll that John gave Mia as a gift becomes a conduit for the demon. Toward the end of the film, Malthus kidnapped Leah and offered to give Leah back in exchange for Mia's soul.
The Hellhound
The timeline gets a tad confusing at this point thanks to an error in the dates portrayed in the film. However, the primary events of "Annabelle Comes Home" are said to have taken place only "one year later" following the 1968 introduction. Gary Dauberman, the writer behind the spin-offs, makes his directorial debut with the newAnnabellefilm.

In the "Conjuring" universe, there are a number of critical points throughout Annabelle's legacy that mark significant paranormal activity. Let's take a look at the timeline of events behind Annabelle's darkly sinister adventures inflicting otherworldly terrors upon the innocent. Sometime later, the Warrens welcome Mary Ellen, who will be in charge of babysitting their daughter, Judy, at the house while they travel overnight to investigate another case.
Being located in the artifact room, the demonic doll is among the malevolent and/or mischievous spirits of countless others. And since the introduction to the film established that Annabelle has the power to act as a beacon to the dead, it only makes sense that the demon sends some newly acquired friends after the girls. Entities known under fun aliases such as the Ferryman and the Bride set out to horrify the girls — including the Black Shuck, a werewolf-like spirit that patrols outside the home, keeping the girls inside. Some possessed samurai armor and a haunted Feeley Meeley board game also join the fun. Terror ensues, but Mary Ellen, Judith, and Daniela are able to eventually put the spirits to rest by, once again, capturing Annabelle and sealing her in the casing within the artifact room ... Until the next time the demonic doll is released to wreak hellish havoc.

Ed and Lorraine are away when it happens; Mary Ellen is babysitting their daughter Judith for the night. This time, however, the doll's demonic spirit doesn't simply stalk the girls through the home — this time, it unleashes a different brand of terror. After the whole debacle, Mia and John bear a child and they move away from the neighborhood in an attempt to get away from the horrors that befell them. Of course, supernatural hauntings begin tormenting Mia during the day as her husband is away at work. With the Annabelle doll still in the couple's possession, the wicked entity has all it needs to attempt retrieving another soul for its collection. Judy explains that they must lock Annabelle in her case again so that the other spirits will rest.
Mary Ellen's friend, Daniela, arrives uninvited to the Warrens' home, who is secretly curious about speaking to the dead. She sneaks into the artifacts room and starts examining every item, ultimately trying to contact her late father. She abruptly leaves Annabelle's glass case unlocked, and the terror begins shortly afterwards with the spirit of Annabelle "Bee" Mullins unleashed.
